Porn Star Stormy Daniels Claims To ‘Have Evidence’ Against Trump, Wants To Testify In Criminal Probe
Adult film star Stormy Daniels says she is willing to testify against Donald Trump in front of a Manhattan grand jury amid New York District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.’s investigation into possible crimes carried out by the former president.
Daniels has claimed that she had a one-night stand with Trump in 2006 and was paid $130,000 by his former lawyer Michael Cohen in October 2016 to keep quiet about their encounter ahead of the presidential election.
Prosecutors have not called her to testify, but during a Monday appearance on the CNN program “New Day,” Daniels claims her lawyer has been contacted amid the investigation.
“I have not been called to testify,” she said. “I know that my attorney, Clark Brewster, has been in contact with them and very forthcoming with my willingness to participate.”
Daniels, 42, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claimed she would share all of the details she knows in regards to the transaction made to pay for her silence. “I would tell them everything I know. I would tell them that I was approached,” she explained.
“I would tell them that I have evidence that the money came from an account set up by Donald Trump or at the direction of Donald Trump,” she said.
When news of the probe into Trump’s criminal activity was announced on May 25, Trump described the investigation as the “greatest witch hunt in American history.”
“This is purely political, and an affront to the almost 75 million voters who supported me in the Presidential Election, and it’s being driven by highly partisan Democrat prosecutors,” Trump said at the time.
Cohen was charged with paying Daniels to keep quiet, as well as tax evasion and lying to Congress. In December 2018, Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison.
The Federal Election Commission on May 6 dropped an investigation into Trump's alleged hush money payments after failing to find that Trump or his campaign “knowingly and willfully” violated campaign finance law.
