Pornhub Grants Free Premium Memberships In France, Spain Amid COVID-19 Lockdowns

People in the countries facing unfortunate lockdowns amid the COVID-19 outbreak now have yet another way to distract themselves, indulging in some considerable adult entertainment. Pornography website Pornhub this week has allowed free premium memberships to its viewers in France and Spain, a similar favor it has provided to viewers in Italy a week prior.

“In light of expanding quarantines, we are extending Free Pornhub Premium for the month to our friends in France!,” the company said in a tweet on Tuesday addressing its viewers in France, adding that it will donate its March proceeds from Modelhub, Pornhub’s adult content marketplace, to help the country fight the pandemic. The company announced the same for Spain in a tweet that followed.

The free access will be in place for the next month also, sparing the viewers at least $9.99 or $7.99, which a monthly subscription with an annual package would usually cost. Under the premium membership, a viewer is offered ad-free streaming with high-speed downloads combined with superior video quality. It also offers “discreet billing” and anytime cancellation.

Granting free premium membership to the countries during the lockdown has resulted in an unprecedented outpour of traffic as millions of them remain self-isolated in their homes. In Italy, France, and Spain, the average traffic in a day have leaped by 57%, 38% and 61%, respectively on the days the declarations were made, CNBC reported, citing the company’s blog.

“We are assessing the COVID-19 pandemic daily to determine how else we can support our vast global community, including expanding free access to Pornhub Premium,” a spokesperson told PC Magazinewhen asked whether it was planning to extend some free options to the U.S., which is also in the midst of widespread lockdowns. “We will keep our community informed of news and changes via Pornhub.com/blog and on social media.”

“During these unfortunate circumstances, we want to assure our Pornhub Models and everyone in our community that your Pornhub Team is taking every precaution necessary to stay healthy and safe, and we just hope you’re all doing to the same!,” it said in a blog post on Tuesday.
