Pornhub’s worldwide traffic continues to peak at a much higher scale ever since the coronavirus outbreak began.

The world’s leading free porn site recently revealed an update of its traffic levels since the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pornhub’s statisticians have released data showing a significant increase in worldwide traffic, which appears to be more upscaled than it was before the global pandemic onset.

As per Pornhub, a peak increase of 24.4% happened on March 25, immediately after the site offered a Free Pornhub Premium to encourage people to stay indoors and follow through with strict social distancing protocols.

Records were also compared to the average traffic period in February, the month before the breakneck upsurge of the virus across the globe. And because traffic often varies and depends on the day of the week, the site compared the traffic annals of each day to the same day of the week during the average period without COVID-19.

Plotted records traced that the increase in traffic began sooner in Europe than other parts of the world, as soon as the virus began to spread. Then much later, changes in traffic increase became notably apparent in the U.S., when the quarantine measures, social distancing and work-at-home protocols were required by most states.

Meanwhile, Pornhub also revealed that the site traffic has maintained its top-level reach than last February’s records, given that some states have now started to loosen the mandated quarantine.

The COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t take sole credit for the site’s impressive spike in interest. Even before the outbreak, Pornhub has already amassed a larger pool of visitors in some countries.

In the U.K., for example, traffic scales have continually maintained its elevated rates prior to the global health scare. On May 22, records showed a 24.3% spike and also appeared close to the peak increase mark on March 25, right when the site launched its free Pornhub Premium offer.

The heightened traffic records for adult entertainment sites such as Pornhub is an interesting reflection of people’s surging demand for the entertainment. And while COVID-19 has largely affected film production studios worldwide, the porn industry has apparently been afforded with more thriving results.

According to the site's traffic annals, more than 18 million searches containing the word "corona" have reportedly been traced, as well as a whopping 11 million on "quarantine" and 1.4 million on "covid."

Coronavirus-themed videos seem to have garnered a higher audience appeal when the site uploaded more than 11,000 videos carrying such theme. Records showed that many of these videos have been viewed a million times. Likewise, Pornhub's quarantine-themed videos have also racked up a total of 9,200 views.
