Porsha Stewart is speaking out about her husband, Kordell Stewart, filing divorce papers, saying that she was taken aback.

Porsha, who is a cast member on hit reality show -- “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” -- is “disappointed about her husband's recent filing for divorce," her rep said in a statement.

The youngest cast mate and her former NFL quarterback husband were married on May 21, 2011.

"[Kordell] misled her and she found out about the filing in the media,” Porsha’s rep went on to say, reports TMZ. "Mrs. Stewart hopes to resolve these personal issues privately with the support of her family, friends and strong faith."

Porsha joined the hit Bravo show this season, but she isn't expected to return for another season after her husband reportedly became upset at how the show's producers portrayed him.

Kordell Stewart filed a petition for divorce earlier this week in Fulton County, Access Atlanta reports. The court document said the marriage was "irretrievably broken."

TMZ also reports that Kordell Stewart feels his wife doesn't need to be paid spousal support as she's "an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself."

She has repeatedly defended her husband on the reality TV show. Cast mates including NeNe Leakes have accused Kordell Stewart of being too controlling and demanding.

In one episode, Porsha Stewart and the other ladies went on a trip to Las Vegas. “I’m glad he let me come on this trip,” she said. The other women seemed dismayed by her remark.

Leakes expressed her support of Porsha on Twitter after it was made public that Kordell filed for divorce.” I'am good judge of character! I will stand by & support my little sister @PorshaDStewart [sic],” she wrote.

Just last week, she had an interview with HollyWood Life and discussed how she and Kordell were working on their marriage and planning for kids in the future.
