Pot school founder Richard Lee on Friday said he will quit Oaksterdam University, a Northern California medical marijuana training school, after a federal raid left him bankrupt. reuters

Police raiding a five-story apartment building in the Bronx Tuesday found it had been turned into an elaborate marijuana farm.

Acting on a tip, police broke down the door at 610 Morris Park Avenue and found nearly 600 plants growing in the building. According to police, each floor had been dedicated to a different stage of growth of the plant and the three men running it had installed an intricate ventilation and hydration system.

Investigators found at least 75 pounds already cut and packaged and suspect the operation to have had at least 1,500 pounds of the plant in the building, which would have reached a profit of at least $8 million.

Police estimate that the farm made a profit of at least $3 million last year.

The suspects - 24-year-old Brian Munoz, 25-year-old Diego Reyes and 23-year-old Victor Reyes - have been charged with criminal possession of marijuana and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
