‘Power’ Season 5 Spoilers: Episode 2 Synopsis Released; Watch ‘Damage Control’ Promo
It will be a rough couple of days for the characters of “Power” in Season 5, episode 2, as they deal with the consequences of their decisions from the past. Spoilers for “Damage Control” suggest Ghost and Tasha will reflect on Raina’s death as Dre focuses on his organization.
“The St. Patrick family grieves Raina (Donshea Hopkins) while the AUSA’s office discusses taking down Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and ending Angela’s (Lela Loren) career,” the synopsis for “Power” Season 5, episode 2 teases.
In the promo video for “Damage Control,” Ghost tells Tasha (Naturi Naughton) he hasn’t been in Raina’s room since her death and Tasha reveals she understands because she can’t seem to leave the room filled with memories of their daughter.
The family is still dealing with the fact that there will be one less person to occupy their penthouse. Ghost thinks everything will be better once Dre (Rotimi) is dead, but Tasha believes she’ll never be ok. Will Ghost realize revenge may not be the way to heal his broken heart?
Elsewhere in the Starz promo, Mak (Sung Kang) explains that there is one person who knows the true extent of James St. Patrick’s guilt. His comment appears to point to Angela, who is featured in the very next scene.
In the previous episode, Tameika (Quincy Tyler Bernstine) revealed she believes Angela is hiding something and requested that a witness claiming to know Ghost’s true identity be kept away from the untrustworthy attorney.
Now that she and the rest of the AUSA’s office believe Angela is still carrying a torch for Ghost, they want to expose her crimes and destroy her career. The only question is how they’ll be able to do so.
“Councilman Tate (Larenz Tate) exploits Raina’s death,” the synopsis for “Damage Control” says. In the previous episode, Tate invited the press and a crowd of people that the St. Patrick family didn’t know to Raina’s funeral, which upset Tasha.
She became even more frustrated when he wouldn’t allow Tommy (Joseph Sikora) to sit with the family even though he was there for Raina her entire life. Although Ghost has been working with Tate as a way to clean up his image, it appears the politician has an ulterior motive when it comes to partnering up with the kingpin.
“Dre maintains order within his organization,” the synopsis for the Starz series states. In the promo video, Dre tells his crew that there can be no loose ends as one of his henchmen expresses his concern about the number of bodies that will result from carrying out a request.
In the premiere episode, Dre made it clear he didn’t want to start a war because he promised the Jimenez Cartel there wouldn’t be any issues if they worked with him and his organization. Determined to keep his word, Dre appears to be ready to end the life of anyone who is a threat to his reign as king of the streets.
“Power” Season 5, episode 2 airs Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on Starz.
