Power
Ghost (Omari Hardwick), Tommy (Joseph Sikora) and Kanan (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) are ordered to take out the Jimenez Cartel on “Power” Season 5 episode 2. Starz

Emotions are running high on Season 5, episode 2 of “Power,” as the St. Patrick family continues to mourn Raina’s death. While the brood is still figuring out how to deal with their grief, others are focused on tying up loose ends.

On “Damage Control,” viewers see Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Tommy (Joseph Sikora) confront Kanan (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) about the fact that the hit on Dre (Rotimi) didn’t go as planned. Kanan reveals Dre was prepared for the hit, as if someone had warned him about the assassination attempt.

As they try to think of who could have warned Dre, Jason Micic (Mike Dopud) pulls up with his henchmen, furious about a $2 million shipment that was stolen by the Jimenez, and is ready to kill Tommy, Ghost and Kanan.

When Tommy promises to take care of it, Jason tells him he, Ghost and Kanan must take out the Jimenez or he will kill all three of them. Although Ghost is upset he has been drafted to commit murder, Kanan explains that taking out the Jimenez will leave Dre vulnerable and make him an easy kill.

Elsewhere, Dre meets with Diego (Maurice Compte), who pressures him to tie up loose ends and to use his connections to break into the international market.

Across town, Tate (Larenz Tate) updates Ghost about his plan to raise money for the community but notes that Ghost’s association with the project may look bad because he is supposed to be an upstanding man, but has a dead daughter.

The councilman suggests Ghost and Tasha (Naturi Naughton) give a press conference and offer a reward to help the NYPD get some leads. He believes it will bring in more donors and shine a light on Raina’s (Donshea Hopkins) memory.

After discussing it with Tasha, she refuses to speak to the press but agrees to attend one of Tate’s events. When Ghost and Tasha arrive, Tate announces they have a few words to say to everyone. Tasha gives a tearful speech and then accuses Ghost of setting her up.

At the AUSA’s office Mak (Sung Kang) reveals there is only one person who knows the extent of Ghost’s guilt. He later surprises Joe Proctor (Jerry Ferrara) at the bar and offers to withdraw his complaint from the Bar Association if Joe shares information about one of his clients.

Joe refuses but Mak reminds him he won’t be able to take care of his daughter if his hearing goes bad and he is unable to practice law. Mak decides to subpoena Terry (Brandon Victor Dixon) as a character witness at Joe’s hearing. The panel determines Terry believes Joe makes unethical decisions, and tell him they will have an answer about his law license soon.

Power
Angela (Lela Loren) needs Tasha (Naturi Naughton) to find out more information on “Power” Season 5 episode 2. Starz

Meanwhile, Angela is worried someone knows Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) is connected to Ray Ray (Marcus Callender) and asks Tasha to find out who. She discovers a man named Brains (Jermel Howard) knows about the relationship, but after some research, Angela finds out he was linked to a burglary ring--and is dead.

She tells Tasha as long as Tariq isn’t implicated in the burglary ring they should be safe from being connected to Ray Ray’s murder.

Ghost calls Angela and leaves a message telling her that he is not doing well and it is revealed that he has begun drinking again.

At the penthouse, Tasha asks Ghost to attend a grief support group, where the two hear the story about a teenage boy who was killed by a drunk driver named Jeff a week before his birthday. The father of the deceased boy revealed he often follows his son's killer to Gavin’s liquor store and suggests it is only a matter of time before the man kills again.

Ghost, who appears to be drunk, reaches out to Angela once again and she ignores his call, leaving him feeling lost. A man is seen leaving Gavin’s liquor store chugging alcohol with a work uniform that reads, “Jeff.” Ghost then tells the man he shouldn’t drink and drive before pulling out a knife and stabbing him to death.

“Power” Season 5 airs Sundays on Starz.
