Powerball Winning Numbers: How To Play And Win Saturday's $510 Million Jackpot
With no winners in the Wednesday night Powerball jackpot drawing, the prize for the upcoming Powerball has gone up to $510 million. The winning numbers for Wednesday were 9-15-43-60-64, with a Powerball of 4 and a Power Play of 3.
Since the June 14 drawing, Powerball has seen no jackpot winner with the money soaring over 19 times. However, one $2 million winner was announced in Texas, and five $1 million winners in California and Florida. Three tickets in New York matched four numbers plus the Powerball for a $50,000 prize.
Saturday's jackpot will be the fifth largest in Powerball history with an estimated cash prize of $324.2 million. According to reports, the odds of winning the upcoming Powerball are one in 292.2 million. The largest Powerball jackpot ever was $1.6 billion that was split three ways in January 2016. Two other Powerball jackpots have crossed the $400 million mark so far in 2017.
How to play and check Powerball:
Powerball tickets can be bought for $2 and can be purchased in 44 states including the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Washington D.C. Five lucky numbers need to be picked from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. The sale of tickets ends at least an hour before the official draw that takes place Wednesday and Saturday night.
"The jackpot - won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball - is either an annuitized prize paid out over 29 years (30 payments counting the first immediate payment) or a cash lump sum payment. If you choose the cash, then you get the cash, pay the tax, and can invest what is left over. If you choose the annuity, then we can invest the cash amount pre-tax, less an immediate first payment (more to invest means more earnings). With the annuity, you get an annual payment that is increased by 5 percent each year to keep up with the cost of living," the website states.
