Brightpoint, Inc. (CELL) stock climbed 61.18 percent to $8.72 in pre-market trading after Ingram Micro announced that it would acquire all of the outstanding shares of Brightpoint common stock for $9.00 per share in cash. The transaction is valued at approximately $840 million, including the value of approximately $190 million of BrightPoint's estimated debt (net of cash), as of June 30, 2012.
Lincare Holdings Inc. (LNCR) stock climbed 20.52 percent to $41.00 in pre-market trading. Linde AG announced Sunday that it had agreed to buy all outstanding shares of LNCR in a deal worth of approximately $4.6 billion.
Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AMLN) stock gained 3.19 percent to $29.10 in pre-market trading. Bristol-Myers Squibb announced Friday that it would acquire Amylin for $31.00 per share in cash or an aggregate purchase price of approximately $5.3 billion. The total value of the transaction is approximately $7 billion, including Amylin's net debt and a contractual payment obligation to Eli Lilly & Company which totals about $1.7 billion.
Barclays Plc (BCS) stock surged 5.05 percent to $10.82 in pre-market trading. Barclays chairman Marcus Agius Tuesday confirmed that he had resigned over the inter-bank lending rate-fixing scandal. The bank was fined £290m ($450m) by the U.S. and UK regulators last week for attempting to manipulate the key Libor (LondonInter Bank Offered Rate).
Nokia Corp. (NOK) stock advanced 2.42 percent to $2.12 in pre-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $2.04, a 52-week high of $7.38 and $7.75 billion in market capitalization.
Verizon Communications (VZ) stock gained 1.04 percent to $44.90 in pre-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $32.28, a 52-week high of $44.77 and $126.26 billion in market capitalization.
Tata Motors Ltd. (TTM) stock fell 1.96 percent to $21.53 in pre-market trading after reporting a 3 percent decline in June auto sales at 64,341 units. Domestic commercial and passenger vehicles sales declined by 5 percent to 58,270 units compared to 61,266 units in June 2011.
Dollar Tree, Inc. (DLTR) stock fell 1.49 percent to $53.00 in pre-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $30.00, a 52-week high of $56.81 and $12.48 billion in market capitalization.
