Shawn Johnson was concerned of her family's health after learning that she tested positive for COVID-19 while expecting a baby.
Johnson, 29, gave her fans an update about her health in an Instagram Story Sunday. She admitted that she tested positive for COVID-19 and got candid about her fears.
"Got my results back today and they came back positive for Covid. Not going to lie... I'm nervous knowing I'm positive," she wrote.
The former gymnast shares 1-year-old daughter Drew with husband Andrew East. She felt that her body was exhausted after two weeks of looking after her daughter who contracted respiratory syncytial virus. Her diagnosis also made her uneasy because she didn't want to spread the contagious disease to her family.
"1: I don't want to get my family sick. 2: I have asthma and have had it my entire life, so this scares me a little extra. 3: had a very close family member fight for his life last month while battling Covid so it's a serious topic of concern/hits home in our household," she continued.
Johnson shared the symptoms she was experiencing and urged the people to take good care of their health.
"So far, I have cough, terrible sore throat. Fatigue for sure but ... that's pregnancy haha," she added. "Not looking for any kind of pitty party. Just a reminder to take care of yourself. Drink an extra water tonight and wash your hands.”
Johnson announced her second pregnancy in January. She shared three photos on Instagram along with the good news. In the first picture, Johnson and East can be seen kissing with her flaunting her baby bump in a black dress. The second snap featured Drew holding a pair of baby shoes. In the third snap, the trio shares the frame with East holding their daughter in his arms.
"Here we go again @andrewdeast @thefamilyeast #babyeast," Johnson wrote in the caption.
In 2017, the Olympic god medalist shared an emotional video after she suffered a miscarriage. The couple learned that she was "unexpectedly pregnant" and they were happy and excited only to find out hours later that they had lost the baby. In 2019, Johnson and East welcomed their first child, Drew.
