Pregnant Woman Shot Outside Florida Hospital; Suspect In Custody

A pregnant woman has been shot outside a hospital in Florida in an "isolated incident," police said.

Osceola County Sheriff's Department responded to a shooting outside Advent Health Hospital in Celebration. An unidentified man was arrested in connection with the incident, the Sheriff's office said on Twitter.

The victim sustained critical injuries but is now stable, reported local news outlet Orlando Sentinel.

"Our deputies responded to a Shooting in the vicinity of Advent Health in Celebration. This was an isolated incident. The victim is a pregnant female who sustained critical injuries and is receiving treatment. Her condition is stable. Suspect is in custody," the department said. "Sheriff Marcos R. Lopez and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office thank the quick response of the community and the outstanding work of the deputies attending this case. More information will be released once we process the details of the case."

The officials have not publicly identified the suspect or the victim. It is also unclear if the suspect who was arrested in connection with the case knows the victim.
