Premier League 2018/19: TV Channels, Timings, Live Stream Info And Rule Changes
The 2018-19 Premier League season is upon us and it will commence Friday with Manchester United opening the campaign with a clash against Leicester City. Read on to find details of where you can watch and follow the entire Premier League campaign on TV and online.
Premier League supporters always dread the off-season and can’t wait for the new season to start despite the summer transfer window and the pre-season games preceding the start of the new campaign. The wait is generally a long one despite it being just about two and a half months when the football season ends in Europe to the start of the new campaign.
In 2018, the wait was made a little bit easier due to the FIFA World Cup in Russia over the summer. But the since the tournament concluded in mid-July the entire focus has been back on the football season, mainly the Premier League — the most popular football league in the world.
There was one major change heading into the 2018-19 season which was the summer transfer window. It was decided the transfer market will close prior to the start of the season, therefore the deadline day this year was Thursday (Aug. 9).
The clubs in England will no longer be able to make any additions to the team, but they can sell as the transfer market in the big leagues around Europe — Spain, Italy, Germany and France — will remain open until Aug. 31.
Liverpool were the biggest spenders in England which included a world record fee for a goalkeeper when they signed Alisson Becker from AS Roma for £67m ($85.5m). However, it was beaten in less than a month as Chelsea signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao for £72m ($92m) a day before the deadline.
Despite spending heavily on just one player — Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City — the reigning champions Manchester City continue to be the favorites to repeat their title success from last season. The Anfield outfit are being touted as their closest challengers.
In the United Kingdom all the Premier League matches are not telecast live on TV, but the supporters in the United States will have access to all 380 games during the course of the campaign.

Rule changes for the 2018-19 season
Manager Behavior
The Premier League are keen to minimize bad behavior in the dugout and this season will see managers penalized if they are constantly warned by referees during games.
Four warnings from the referee will see a manager receive a one-match ban. If the manager goes on to pick up eight warnings through the season he'll be handed a two-match ban. Twelve warnings leads to three and 16 is an FA misconduct ban.
Technology in the Dugout
A new rule was passed allowing teams to use technology in the dugouts this season. The coaching staff may pass on tactics or advise using a tablet by showing past videos or analyzing live game data. They cannot, however, use replays to argue a decision made by the officials.
Suspensions
This season, any caution a player receives will be specific to the competition he is playing in. If a player receives a yellow card in the FA Cup, it will count toward a suspension in the Premier League.
However, a red card suspension will still count toward all competitions. The number of matches however can be increased or decreased based on the circumstances.
No extra-time in League Cup
There will be no extra-time in Carabao Cup matches this season. Any match that is level after 90 minutes will go into a straight penalty shoot-out.
VAR
The Video Assistant Referee system will not be used in the Premier League, but will be used when FA Cup and CArabao Cup matches are played at Premier League stadiums.
