Premier League Rumors: Blues Legend Urges Chelsea To Secure Promising Winger

Frank Lampard of Chelsea FC is trying to secure as much young promising talent as he can to rebuild the team. Under the watch of the 41-year-old head coach, the club is undergoing major changes that were bringing in young and promising players have been the focus. One player being pushed right now is Jadon Sancho.

The 19-year-old from Borussia Dortmund is one of the emerging bright players in the sport today. He joined Bundesliga back in 2017 and has already scored 31 times and 36 assists in 90 appearances. Things don't seem to be running smoothly over in Dortmund, something that sparked potential transfer rumors. That in mind, a Blues legend believes that Sancho would be a great addition to Chelsea but Lampard needs to act fast, Goal.com reported.

"I think Sancho is one of the best young players in the world at the moment, so he'd be a great addition to Chelsea's squad," Blues legend John Terry told Frank Khalid in an interview.

"It would make us better as well, but the ones that have come through, the Billy Gilmours, Tammy, Mason, Reece [James], it's endless, isn't it? There have been so many positives this season," he added.

Chelsea's youth system has been shining under Lampard's watch. As mentioned in a previous post, the Blues coach was a bit dismayed that the Blues were unable to pull off major moves at the January transfer window. Lampard was visibly disappointed but has somehow managed to maintain a competitive group. This drew praise from Terry as well, believing his former teammate was the right man to lead Chelsea.

"It' s been incredible because we said there was no one better, to give Lamps the job," he added. "With [assistant manager] Jody Morris as well, he has someone who knows the younger players and works with them at the youth team and U-18 level as well."

If Chelsea does want to get Sancho on board, they need to act fast. With his talent, there are multiple teams equally interested in getting the 19-year-old to their fold. Among the teams linked to Sancho include Manchester United and Liverpool. Other teams could be quietly making their moves as well. That in mind, it may be best for the Blues to start making their move as early as now.
