  • Kane believes league cannot extend league play if no deadline is set
  • Kane feels league should scrap season if it fails to start by June
  • Kane recovering well but transfer talks remain

Harry Kane of Tottenham believes that the Premier League needs to set some plots to determine if it would be feasible to extend the current season. Seeing how most leagues are having difficulty to determine when to resume play, the 26-year-old forward thinks that it could be an endless wait if no target date is set.

Kane is aware that the Premier League made it clear that they will not start a new season until the current one wraps up. But he believes there is a point where league officials need to evaluate if that is feasible. As far as he is concerned, a safe point to wait is until June. If the coronavirus pandemic has not subsided by then, he feels that it may be best to scrap the season entirely.

"There needs to be a point where enough is enough. Probably the limit for me is the end of June," Kane said via Instagram Live.

"Playing into July or August and pushing next season back, I don’t see too much benefit in that," he added.

In a way, Kane does have a point. The only problem here, which he admits he is unaware, is the business side of things. Curiously, he is one person who is believed by many that would benefit from the lull. In a previous post, it was mentioned how the time off could help him recuperate better from a hamstring injury he sustained back in January. He could return and help out Jose Mourinho's charges if ever league play can resume by June.

"I’m at a good stage now and just working hard, doing a lot of recovery, a lot of rehab and just waiting to see what happens to the season,” Kane said.

And like other players not seeing action, potential transfer talk was part of that interview. Kane has been linked to a potential move to Manchester United and the English forward gave some pretty "playing safe" answers to Redknapp.

‘It’s one of those things, I couldn’t say yes, I couldn’t say no. I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs. But it’s one of those things – I’ve always said if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I’m not someone to just stay there for the sake of it," Kane said.
