Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer heaped praise on Paul Pogba for his performance in Red Devils' 3-2 win over Sheffield United in the Premier League on Thursday.

Pogba had a tough few weeks because of his agent Mino Raiola's negative comments about his future at Manchester United. Keeping the off-field controversies behind, Pogba set up Anthony Martial's goal as the Old Trafford side became only the fourth club in English top-flight history to record 10 consecutive away league victories.

After Manchester United's 3-2 victory at Bramall Lane, Solskjaer was delighted with Pogba, who has been linked with a move away from Red Devils.

"We made a decision. Of course, we know [Pogba's] strength in the air. We knew he was going to be important to us. He won almost every single header. His vision, creativity. Paul's responded really well to the work he's been doing. He's fit now. Excellent performance," Solskjaer said in a post-match interview.

Sheffield United went 1-0 up within eight minutes from the kick-off, thanks to McGoldrick's goal, before Marcus Rashford netted the equalizer. Manchester United went into the half-time break with a 2-1 lead after Pogba helped Martial score in the 33rd minute. Rashford netted his second goal of the day soon into the second half. Mason Greenwood, who did not score, was the only Manchester United player to have had multiple shots on target.

In the same interview, Solskjaer said he is hoping the trio can score more goals in the coming matches. Rashford, who has netted 12 goals in 20 competitive matches, has scored five times in six away games in the ongoing campaign.

"I don't think it's a key to get them on the pitch, it's key to get them performing. We need them to kick on, to start scoring goals. We've done okay without them really firing. They showed their capabilities, now we need their consistency. Very happy with all three of them," added Solskjaer.
