On Sunday, musicians and other well-known figures in the world of entertainment gathered for the 62nd annual Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The night's biggest winners included Billie Eilish, who took home Record of the Year for "Bad Guy," and Lizzo, who was awarded Best Pop Solo Performance for "Truth Hurts." However, one artist made a strong statement about the 2020 election before the awards show even took place.

Singer-songwriter Joy Villa took to the red carpet before the ceremony in a Trump-inspired ensemble. The red gown showcased "Trump 2020" on the front and “Impeached and Re-Elected” on the back. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this was the "Make America Great Again!” singer's third time supporting President Donald Trump at an award show.

"The collar of Joy’s latex dress was inspired by a neckline on a dress by Alexander McQueen, and the coat is inspired by our first lady [Melania Trump] — I just picture her in this. So yeah, USA!" said designer Desi Allinger when discussing how the piece was created.

In a post on her Instagram, the "Freedom (Fight For It)" songstress shared a picture of the evening's look. "Thank God for @realdonaldtrump! The first president in USA history to be impeached and re-elected by us, the American people!" she wrote. Her post can be seen below.

This was not the first time that the musician has shown her support for the President through fashion. In 2019, she wore a dress to the Grammys that had a brick pattern on it and said "build the wall" on the back. She also wore a dress to the award show in 2017 that had "Make America Great Again" in the front. Both her of her looks can be seen below.

When asked if President Trump and the White House were aware of her 2020 dress ahead of time, Villa said that he would "be surprised." She then added, "I just told Ivanka and the White House that I’m going to wear something to be supportive. I don’t let anyone know the message beforehand."

Aside from the message of support, the POTUS has also been in the news lately for other reasons, including facing potential legal action due to a decision he made at recent campaign rallies and receiving harsh criticism from a "Saturday Night Live" star.
