President Obama's Nominee For Head Of The World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, Has Other Talents: Rapping, Singing and Dancing [VIDEO]
He may be President Obama's choice to lead the World Bank, but it looks like Dartmouth's president Jim Yong Kim has other talents -- rapping, singing and dancing.
Last year, Dartmouth held their Idol competition and while things seem to be pretty routine in the beginning with the students singing The Time of My Life song while donning choir outfits on stage, the surprising moment comes in at just passed two minutes when Yong Kim joins in on the song.
The students on stage break and a video appears showcasing Dartmouth's campus and then shows Yong Kim in a white, leather jacket, black shirt, white and black sunglasses, white and black fedora hat and black jeans.
The video expands and brings neon green lights in with Yong Kim rapping and singing the lyrics to the song and joined by students in all white outfits dancing along. The song then breaks again for a dance sequence and switches to the Black Eyed Peas song Party Rock with Yong Kim and the dancers busting out some of their own moves and Yong Kim rapping some of his own lyrics with the help of Auto-tune for the Idol competition. Three girls on stage take over rapping while the video of Yong Kim and the dancers stays on in the background. The video closes out with Yong Kim in a suit singing the song choir style surrounded by students and the students on stage singing along live.
Although, Yong Kim shows off his funnier side in the video, the Dartmouth president has many achievements under his belt. He is a Korean-born physician who moved to the U.S. when he was five. He became the first Asian-American president of an Ivy-league college and has been a pioneer in the treatment of HIV and AIDS. He graduated from Harvard and Brown universities and founded the global health organization Partners in Health and served as director of the World Health Organization's department of HIV/AIDS.
