‘Pretty Little Liars’ Creator Marlene King Teases Season 6B Finale
“Pretty Little Liars” Season 6B hasn’t even premiered yet but creator Marlene King is already hard at work wrapping up the finale! King took to Twitter to share that she’s working on the last episode with editor Lois Blumenthal.
Romance and a surprising twist? Sign us up!
This isn’t the first time that King has tweeted about the finale. In early September she took to Twitter to share that they were filming the 2016 ending.
“Spoiler alert,” she posted. “This is the most romance we have had in a finale for like ever.”
King added that she is “blown away” by the “Pretty Little Liars” cast and crew, and that the finale “takes us to a new and provocative place.”
Fans of the ABC Family series (soon to be renamed the Freeform network) will remember that the summer finale concluded with the Liars finally unmasking “A.” After years of speculation and theories, it was finally revealed that CeCe Drake (Vanessa Ray) has been the one tormenting the girls. With “A” identified, Season 6A ended on a bit of an optimistic note with Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) moving forward with their lives without fear. However, the final moments revealed a five year time jump with someone after Alison (Sasha Pieterse).
Details about the new plotline are scarce, but a look at the first four minutes of the Season 6B premiere revealed that Alison will be trying to get CeCe released from the psych ward/ prison. She reaches out to her old friends for help at the hearing, however, it’s unclear if they’ll be willing to support Allison’s mission to reunite her estranged family.
“Pretty Little Liars” Season 6B premieres on Freeform on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016. Fans can catch up with their favorite characters during a behind-the-scenes fall special airing Nov. 24. Follow @AmandaTVScoop for more “Pretty Little Liars” news.
