‘Pretty Little Liars’ Drama: Ashley Benson Granted Restraining Order Against Stalker
Whether it's on camera or behind the scenes, “Pretty Little Liars” actress Ashley Benson can’t seem to escape the drama. Famous for playing Hanna Marin, a teen stalked by the elusive, sinister “A” on the hit ABC Family drama series, Benson has found an off-camera stalker in married, 49-year-old former Warner Bros. employee James Gorton Jr.
According to a report from TMZ, the 24-year-old actress recently obtained a temporary restraining order against Gorton. In court documents obtained by the gossip site, Benson claims that Gorton, who was recently fired from his security guard post at the lot where “Pretty Little Liars” films, has been stalking her.
“Gorton has told people he has a relationship with Benson… That he has sexual feelings for her and that God instructed him to pursue her romantically,” reads TMZ’s report.
According to “studio security officials,” Gorton previously admitted to feeling a “special connection” with the TV star after she happened to glance his way one day on set. The former Warners Bros. employee had also reportedly claimed to be “silently communicating” with Benson as well as unidentified others.
Even though Gorton is now off the lot, Benson reportedly filed for the order of protection in fear that he would visit her during off-hours. “She fears he may still try to track her down at home,” reports TMZ.
Following the restraining order’s approval, the ex-security guard is no longer allowed within 100 yards of Benson.
“Pretty Little Liars," recently premiered its fifth season and will celebrate its 100th episode July 8. The series airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC Family.
