‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 4 Spoilers: Is Aria Working With ‘A’? Ezria Theories
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! Do NOT continue reading if you have not watched the “Pretty Little Liars” season 4 summer finale, “Now You See Me, Now You Don’t.”
“Pretty Little Liars” dropped a major bomb in the summer finale of season 4. Revealing not only the identity of “Red Coat,” the ABC Family series also exposed the identity of “A” – Ezra.
While fans are hesitant to believe that the Rosewood High School English teacher is the one that has been tormenting Aria, Emily, Spencer and Hanna … maybe he hasn’t been working alone. One theory that popped up after the “World War A” reveal is that “A” is actually Aria AND Ezra … Ezri‘A’ .
“Pretty Little Liars” executive producer Marlene King addressed the rumors of Ezria with Entertainment Weekly, telling the site “everybody is a suspect in Rosewood.”
“We say that a lot, but it’s true,” she continued. “Everybody’s a suspect in Rosewood. And we always say things aren’t as they appear to be. We have fun with that theme a lot.”
One of the suspicious moments came during the summer finale when Mrs. Grunwald told the four girls that Alison won’t turn up until she finds out whom she can trust. Hanna told the housemother that Alison can trust them … but Mrs. Grunwald told them she shouldn’t be so sure … while looking at Aria a little longer than the rest of the girls.
Mrs. Grunwald might simply have been referring to the fact that Aria has been unknowingly sleeping with the enemy. Or it’s possible that Mrs. Grunwald knows that Aria is working alongside Ezra as “A.”
But what would Aria’s motive be? It could have to do with Alison’s threats of exposing her dad’s infidelities to her mother. Or it could be something as silly as jealousy over a boy.
An important clue to remember is that “A” didn’t start harassing the four girls until Ezra showed up in town. The first time Ezra met Aria he mentioned Alison, and if he started up a relationship with Aria … it’s not too far-fetched to believe that he got Alison pregnant.
