“Pretty Little Liars” fans have an early holiday treat on their hands. While the 2014 Christmas special isn’t set to air until Dec. 9, ABC Family has released 21 photos from the upcoming episode to hold viewers over.

As we previously reported, “Pretty Little Liars” decided to skip their annual Halloween episode in favor of a holiday special – “How the ‘A’ Stole Christmas.” But that doesn’t mean executive producer Marlene King is holding off on the spooks and scares just because it’s a time for holiday cheer. The hit series is going to be full of a lot of drama … especially since the summer finale concluded with Spencer (Troian Bellisario) behind bars.

Fans will remember that episode 12 ended with Spencer, Aria (Lucy Hale), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) hot on Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) trail. The Liars were suspicious of their former friend and teamed up with Mona (Janel Parrish) to connect her to Bethany Young’s murder. Mona was able to put the pieces together … but a little too late.

As Spencer was arrested for the murder of Bethany, Mona discovered that Alison’s mom, Mrs. DiLaurentis (Andrea Parker) had been having an affair with Bethany’s father. In a shocking twist it was revealed that Alison had knew about the affair and was jealous of Bethany. According to Mona’s investigative work, Alison lured Bethany to Rosewood to kill her.

Mona called Aria to tell her about the new information, but “A” had been watching the teen. By the time the girls arrived with Ezra (Ian Harding), “A” had broke into Mona’s house and killed Mona. But the police had no body – because “A” had Mona in her trunk.

Episode 13, “How the ‘A’ Stole Christmas,” will find Rosewood ready to celebrate the holiday. But Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer won’t be in the mood for Christmas “after the loss of Mona and Spencer’s murder charge looming over them.” Fortunately they have a plan to turn their luck around and avenge Mona’s death. The girls and their partners will “devise a plan” when “an opportunity presents itself with the chance to evidence to clear Spencer’s name,” teases the synopsis. Not only will the girls try to clear Spencer’s name and get justice for Mona … but they’ll also be trying to “bring Alison down.”
