‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 7 Spoilers: What Will Happen In The Premiere? Episode 1 Synopsis And Photos

They’re back! Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer return to the small screen when Season 7 of “Pretty Little Liars” premieres on Freeform Tuesday night. The series has been on hiatus since mid-March, but will pick up where viewers left off in the Season 6 finale.

For those that don’t remember, the Liars decided to put a plan in place to trick Uber A into revealing their identity. The plan involved Hanna (Ashley Benson) confessing to killing CeCe (Vanessa Ray), despite being innocent of the crime. “A” arranged to meet Hanna at the Lost Woods Resort, and the others set up a couple of traps to get a photo of their stalker. Hanna was supposed to be safely locked inside a room, but when they returned they discovered that “A” had kidnapped their friend by sneaking in through a trap door. Although Hanna was missing, the gang got their first real clue — a photo of Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) mom, Jessica (Andrea Parker), outside of the motel. But the woman in the photo wasn’t actually Jessica, because she was killed in an earlier season. It was Jessica’s twin sister, Mary Drake, who was CeCe’s real mother and had been institutionalized at Radley Sanitarium.

According to the synopsis for the Season 7 premiere, titled “Tick-Tock Bitches,” the group will “race to save Hanna following her abduction by Uber A.” There will be 24 hours on the clock, and Aria actress Lucy Hale revealed in a preview video that an actual timer will appear on the bottom of the screen to add to the intensity. They’ll be forced to hand over evidence that will reveal the true identity of CeCe’s killer. But will they get to Hanna in time?

“It was a well thought out plan,” Spencer (Troian Bellisario) says in the summer premiere trailer. “When it ends like this, it’s called murder.”

Meanwhile, the promo video also teases that viewers will get to see more of Alison, who admitted herself into a mental hospital after believing that she was hallucinating dead people. In reality it was Mary Drake and Alison’s husband, Dr. Rollins (Huw), who were messing with her using makeup and masks. It was revealed that the two were working together to gain control of the Carissimmi group and avenge CeCe’s death.
