Pretty Little Liars
“Pretty Little Liars,” starring Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, Troian Bellisario, Lucy Hale and Sasha Pieterse, aired from 2010 until 2017 on Freeform Freeform

While most fans were sad to see “Pretty Little Liars” come to an end earlier this year, two girls from Piqua, Ohio, used the show’s infamous villain, “A,” as an inspiration to spread fear among their classmates.

Piqua police confirmed that they arrested a 14-year-old and 15-year-old from Piqua High School on Friday. According to the Associated Press, authorities took action after they discovered the teens were threatening their classmates and posed a danger to the students and faculty.

Officials revealed that the teens created a Snapchat account using the letter “A” as their handle, in order to remain anonymous like the villain on the show.

On the account, the girls would threaten to expose their classmates’ secrets, which lead to rumors spreading about a false school shooting.

When the posts about the shooting began to gain momentum, the 14-year-old involved in the incident wrote a threat on the bathroom mirror which read, “I’m still going to shoot up the school. A.”

In the end, the girls were charged in a juvenile court for posting threats which led to an early dismissal at school and the cancellation of classes for the next day.

“Pretty Little Liars” was a series that aired on Freeform for seven seasons. The story followed the lives of teenage girls from a small, fictional town named Rosewood, who were terrorized by an anonymous villain known as “A.”

“A” would constantly threaten to expose their secrets and force them to complete risky, and at times, dangerous tasks in order to keep their secrets from getting out.

In the process of blackmailing the girls, “A” also made them live in fear, never knowing whether their deepest, darkest secrets would be exposed or if their lives were in danger.

“A” was also notorious for breaking into the girls’ homes, sending threatening text messages and writing eerie messages that would only worsen the fear of the victims.

Even though“A” was eventually caught in the series and ended up getting what “PLL” fans thought she deserved, the two girls in this real-life situation will have to face the justice system and deal with whatever punishments are handed down to them.
