Prince Andrew just announced that he will be stepping down from his royal duties following his interview about the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

The Duke of York said that he came to his personal decision after realizing that his alleged sex scandal is disrupting the royal family. According to the BBC, the dad of two discussed his plans to step down with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles before making an official announcement.

“I continue to unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein. His suicide has left many unanswered questions, particularly for his victims, and I deeply sympathize with everyone who has been affected and wants some form of closure,” Prince Andrew said in a statement.

Shortly after Prince Andrew’s resignation, the Queen was business as usual. Her Majesty presented the 2019 Chatham House Prize to British broadcaster David Attenborough in London. Attenborough was also awarded the BBC Studios Natural History Unit for his series “Blue Planet II.”

The Queen wore a matching coat and skirt during her recent outing. Her curly hair was neatly fixed, and it’s evident that she has lost a considerable amount of weight.

The 93-year-old monarch also celebrated her 72nd wedding anniversary with Prince Philip. On Instagram, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle congratulated the royal couple on their lengthy and successful marriage.

Prince Harry and Markle uploaded a throwback photo of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh riding a horse-drawn carriage.

“Happy anniversary to Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh! On this day, seventy-two years ago, they were married at Westminster Abbey. Many congratulations!” they captioned the snap.

Prince William and Kate Middleton also honored Her Majesty and Prince Philip on their wedding anniversary by sharing an old loved-up photo of the royal couple. The picture shows Her Majesty and the Duke staring into each other’s eyes.

“Wishing Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh a very happy 72nd Wedding Anniversary!” they captioned the snap.
