Prince Charles Accused Princess Diana Of ‘Showing Off’ For This Shocking Reason

Prince Charles previously accused Princess Diana of showing off over a Christmas present-gone-wrong-incident many years ago.

In the documentary “Princess Diana: The Woman Inside,” it was revealed how Princess Diana would often visit the rehearsals of the ballet companies in London when she was still alive. The late Princess of Wales also took part in daily classes at the English National Ballet in Kensington.

Princess Diana was reportedly so excited to share what she learned in class to Prince Charles and wanted her performance to be her Christmas present for her husband. But the dad of two was displeased and called his wife’s efforts “rubbish.”

While at the private Christmas gala for the supporters of the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House in Convent Garden, Princess Diana learned a routine to Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl.”

Richard Kay, a royal editor, said, “It was a present which slightly backfired. She did it as a tribute to Charles. Charles wasn’t terribly impressed. He thought she was showing off. In fact, it was incredibly courageous of her to go on stage and at the home of English ballet at Convent Garden and to do a routine with the great Wayne Sleep.”

Sleep, who choreographed the dance, talked about his experience working with Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom. He said that the guests at the private gathering were surprised to see Princess Diana take the stage.

“I said, ‘By the way, you’ve got to bow to the Royal box.’ She said, ‘I’m not bowing to him! He’s my hubby,’” Sleep said in the documentary “Princess Diana: Her Life, Her Death, The Truth.”

Interestingly, with or without her performance for Prince Charles, Princess Diana always loved to dance. As a young girl, she also took ballet lessons. She initially wanted to be a professional ballerina herself, but she grew taller and taller.

During her interview for “Princess Diana: The Woman Inside,” the late princess said, “I overshot the height by some way. I couldn’t imagine some man trying to lift me up!”
