Prince Charles, Camilla Affair Predicted By Princess Margaret, Queen Mother ‘Supported’ Relationship

Prince Charles’ aunt, Princess Margaret, predicted his and Camilla Parker Bowles’ affair even before it happened.

In the documentary “Charles and Di: The Truth Behind Their Wedding,” a source shared details from Princess Margaret’s conversation with one of her close friends.

At that time, Prince Charles and Princess Diana just got engaged and Princess Margaret was asked what she thought about the royal couple’s upcoming union.

Queen Elizabeth’s sister said that she’s extremely relieved but she also knows that Camilla has no intention of giving Prince Charles up.

“Princess Margaret had foreseen a major stumbling block,” the narrator said.

But in the documentary “The Royal House of Windsor,” it was revealed that the Queen Mother supported Prince Charles and Camilla’s affair. The late royal allowed the couple to secretly meet up at her Scottish home and use it as their bolthole.

Royal historian Dr. Piers Brendon said that the Queen Mother simply wanted to avoid a scandal because of her own experience with the abdication crisis years earlier. By allowing her grandson and Camilla to stay at her Scottish home, she is able to prevent their controversial affair from leaking to the press.

“The Queen Mother was relatively broad-minded – she didn’t mind Charles having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles provided that this did not become a scandal. And this is what worried her because she had seen what happened in the abdication crisis, where a private matter had blown up into something that had practically wrecked the monarchy,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Queen Mother didn’t seem to have the same soft spot for Princess Diana when she was still alive. In fact, when the Princess of Wales asked the Queen’s mom if Prince Charles was having an affair, the late royal said that Prince Charles and Camilla were just friends.

The Queen Mother even branded Princess Diana a silly girl for thinking that her husband was having an affair with another woman. But Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom was actually right to think that way.
