Prince Charles, Camilla Health: Duke, Duchess Of Cornwall ‘More At Risk’ Of Coronavirus
KEY POINTS
- Prince Charles and Camilla are reportedly at most risk for the deadly coronavirus
- Prince Charles and Camilla are in good health
- Prince Charles and Camilla's age make them susceptible to the coronavirus
Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles are reportedly more at risk from the coronavirus due to their age than the other members of the royal family.
On the “HeirPod” podcast, royal commentator Omid Scobie stressed the fact that the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall are in good health. But it is still best for them to avoid staying outdoors because they are susceptible to the deadly coronavirus.
“On Tuesday Prince Charles was due to fly over to Bosnia for the beginning of a tour and Camilla was going to join him afterward for Cyprus and Jordan. That was very much a big part of their calendar this year. I have had a conversation with Clarence House and they have said both of them are in good health,” Scobie said.
"We have to be aware of their age, they do fall into a demographic that is slightly more at risk than perhaps the younger members of the royal family but they are really doing this on the advice of the British Government. What they are going to do with the extra time they have because it was a six-day tour, they are actually looking at some engagements to carry out in the UK. Not, of course, large gathering but something that they can do to fill the time. Because of course they still want to work,” he added.
In the same episode of “HeirPod,” ABC News foreign correspondent Maggie Rulli said that the royal family’s symbolic presence within the United Kingdom has given them an opportunity to be leaders of the country amid the pandemic.
Rulli said that it is so fascinating to watch how the coronavirus pandemic is unfolding. Within the last 48 hours, everyone in the United Kingdom has been paying attention.
There are also announcements everywhere from the royal family, which proves just how big of a deal the pandemic is going to be for the British clan, the UK, and the entire world.
