Prince Charles Cows, Thousands Of Animals Affected By Bovine Tuberculosis Outbreak
Prince Charles’ cows are among the thousands of animals affected by the bovine tuberculosis bTB outbreak.
According to The Telegraph, there has been an outbreak at the royal farm near Windsor Castle, as well as four in Prince Charles’ organic herd at the Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire. The cause of the outbreak of infections remain unknown, but vets claimed that it is possible that cows came into contact with other cattle carrying the disease.
“The Duchy of Cornwall is acutely aware of the importance of halting the spread of bTB,” a spokesperson for Prince Charles said.
Hundreds of pet cats and a lion at a zoo in Devon have also been affected by the disease. The cats were likely infected after haunting mice, rice, and voles.
In related news, Prince Charles also made headlines last week after it was revealed that he has nine medals of combat even though he’s not fought in a single war.
Carly Read, a journalist for Express, examined how the Duke of Cornwall was able to acquire the medals and said that it all started in 2001 when he was awarded the Order of Merit. Prince Charles was also awarded the GCB, also known as the Order of the Bath, the Queen’s Service Order, the Queen’s Coronation Medal, the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal, the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, and more.
He was able to scoop the recognition due to his work as the general in the army, the admiral in the navy, and the air chief marshal in the RAF. Prince Charles has served in the military, and his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, followed in his footsteps.
Prince Harry even went as far as fighting in Afghanistan, and Prince Philip also participated in the World War. Prince Charles’ younger brother, Prince Andrew, also fought in the Falklands Wars.
Meanwhile, Prince Charles also became the talk of the town when his interview about Princess Diana surfaced last week. He said that he didn’t cheat on his ex-wife and said that he and Camilla Parker Bowles have been friends for years.
