Prince Charles Hates Doing This With Royal Fans: ‘He Gets Irritated’
Prince Charles reportedly hates doing one thing with royal fans whenever he’s out to meet them during his royal walkabouts.
John Birdcut, the director of BBC’s documentary “Prince, Son, and Heir: Charles at 70,” said that Prince Charles is finding a way to completely give up taking selfies with his supporters.
“He gets irritated by people poking their phones at them. I heard him tell people, ‘I’m trying to give up selfies.’ He wants to meet people, and it irritates him getting a camera shoved in his face,” he said.
But despite not wanting to take selfies, Prince Charles has been seen agreeing to take countless of them while meeting his avid fans. The Duke of Cornwall’s sons, Princes William and Harry, on the other hand, have been gracious when it comes to taking selfies.
Martin Coulter, a journalist for Daily Star, claimed that a sneaky fan once snapped a photo of Prince William and Kate Middleton in a selfie. Builder Sam Wayne caught the attention of Prince William when he took the photo, and the Duke of Cambridge jokingly said that he took a bad image of himself.
But even though Prince William and Middleton have not spoken negatively about taking selfies with fans, they have employed a clever trick to not being photographed in public all the time.
Kathryn Knight, a journalist for Express, noted that Prince William and Middleton avoid looking at a fixed point when photographers try to take snaps of them. A royal correspondent said that the younger royals are less relaxed compared to the older royals when taking photos.
Camilla Parker Bowles, for instance, shows up to royal engagements with a huge smile on her face. She also looks at photographers straight in their eyes. Royal photographers love Bowles because she knows all of their names.
And in order to prevent the paparazzi from taking photos of Prince William and Middleton’s three children, the Duchess of Cambridge makes it a point to take photos of them herself.
