Prince Charles and Prince Philip have never been close with each other. In fact, there are claims that Prince Charles used to be scared of his dad.

In an unearthed photo from years ago, it seems that this was really the case. In the black and white snap, a young Prince Charles looks scared as he gazes at his dad. He is also standing a few feet away from the Duke of Edinburgh.

In between Prince Charles and Prince Philip is a young Princess Anne. She is standing close to her dad. Prince Philip is reportedly very fond of his only daughter because they share a ton of similarities.

The Duke of Edinburgh is wearing dark sunglasses in the photo. His hands are kept inside the pockets of his coat. He has a stern look on his face, and this may be the reason why Prince Charles looks worried in the picture.

But years later, Prince Philip and Prince Charles seemed to fix their strained relationship. When the Prince of Wales was a teenager, he was photographed holding hands with Prince Philip.

Even though the father and son duo don’t look too happy to be around each other, they displayed a united front during the outing.

Prince Charles reportedly had a sad childhood. This is because his parents were always away on royal tours abroad. Prince Charles and Princess Anne were left under the care of their nannies.

In another throwback photo, Prince Charles is standing outside the door of the palace with a sad look on his face. His face looks chiseled and his hair is well kept.

A fourth snap shows Prince Charles spending his time outdoors. The photo also features one of the future King’s adorable dogs.

Today, Prince Charles is waiting for the time that he will be crowned King. He is slowly taking over his mom Queen Elizabeth’s royal duties in preparation for his future role.
