Prince Charles once shared a loving moment with his ex-wife, Princess Diana, and son, Prince William.

In the throwback photo uploaded by a royal fan, Prince Charles and Princess Diana are playing with Prince William on a swing. Princess Diana is clad in her brown long-sleeved blouse and a matching brown skirt. She is holding a young Prince William on her lap while looking straight into the camera.

Even though Princess Diana isn’t smiling from ear to ear in the photo, it was evident that she was having a blast with her eldest son. The adorable Prince William is wearing an off-white sweater and blue pants. He is also barefoot, and it’s obvious that he’s enjoying himself.

Prince Charles is standing beside Princess Diana and Prince William. He is also holding on to the swing that his wife and son were sitting on. Prince Charles has a huge smile on his face while staring at how cute his son is.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana smiling and looking happy in their throwback photos is quite a rare occurrence. After all, the couple has been faced with problems even before they tied the knot. In fact, one of their portraits showed how distant the couple is from each other.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana tied the knot in 1981 despite both of them already feeling as though they shouldn’t push through with their nuptials. According to royal author Penny Junor, Princess Diana told her sisters that she wanted to back out from her wedding, but they urged her not to do so.

The future King also had doubts of his own but he still decided to wed the Princess of Wales even though his heart really belonged to Camilla Parker Bowles.
