Prince Charles mentioned Kate Middleton and Prince William in his recent speech.

The Prince of Wales is in Solomon Islands after a five-day trip in New Zealand with Camilla Parker Bowles. During his visit at the Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara on Monday, Prince Charles delivered a speech and he mentioned the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

“Queen blong yumi and Duke blong Edinburgh telling me such a good memories blong time algeter visitin this islands. Same with im piccinni blong me, Prince William, and wife blong him,” Prince Charles said.

According to Hello! the word “piccini” means “child” or “son” in Pijin, the language spoken in the Solomon Islands.

Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William and Middleton visited the island in 1982 and 2012, respectively. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge undertook a nine-day tour of Southeast Asia and South Pacific to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in September 2012. The royal parents of three enjoyed the traditional dancing upon arrival to Honiara and the couple traveled in a canoe during their stay.

Many believed that this year is another “annus horribilis” for the Queen. The year started with Prince Philip being involved in a car crash accident. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also faced non-stop criticism from the public due to their obsession with privacy, decision to fly in private jets and move to use the taxpayers’ money to fund their home while keeping Archie’s details private. Prince Andrew’s Epstein scandal and the prorogation of parliament also made this year more challenging for the Queen.

However, according to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, Prince William and Middleton are the monarch’s saving grace. This year is extremely good for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Lorraine Kelly said that Middleton has become the Queen’s top asset in the royal family. Meanwhile, Prince William’s speech at the Tusk Conservation Awards was praised.

“Wow!!! He embodies the definition of the word Prince. He has it all; good looks, charisma, dignity, compassion, and tremendous people-skills,” one royal fan commented.
