Prince Charles reportedly had a hard time understanding Princess Diana’s antics, a royal biographer has claimed.

Katie Nicholl revealed in the book “William and Harry” that Princess Diana previously took her sons shopping on Kensington High Street, and she allowed Prince William and Prince Harry to buy candies using their own money.

The late mom of two believed that it was important for the royal siblings to understand the value of money at a young age. Princess Diana also wanted Prince William and Prince Harry to know that money is earned through hard work.

However, there was no member of the royal family that carried cash years ago so Princess Diana was believed to have broken a tradition. Her friend, Simone Simmons, said that Prince Charles questioned his ex-wife's decision to always give her sons pocket money whenever they went out.

“They were always accompanied by protection officers, who paid for them, but when they were out with their friends, it embarrassed them and they wanted to pay for things themselves,” Simmons said.

Princess Diana’s friend also clarified that Prince Charles wasn’t mean toward his sons. He simply didn’t understand why they would need money at such a young age.

But Dickie Arbiter, Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s former press secretary, said that the most important thing was Prince William and Prince Harry were always happy during their outings with their mom.

Whenever they were outside, Prince William and Prince Harry were seen laughing hysterically with Princess Diana. But behind closed doors, the Princess of Wales was already struggling with her marriage to Prince Charles.

“The situation between Charles and Diana had become unbearable,” Nicholl said.

Meanwhile, giving Prince William and Prince Harry pocket money wasn’t the only thing that the ex-couple didn’t agree on. Prince Charles didn’t also support the way that Princess Diana educated her two boys.

In the Amazon Prime documentary “Diana: The Woman Inside,” Ken Wharfe said that Princess Diana gave her sons a taste of the normal life, but Prince Charles didn’t approve. The future King wondered why his sons had to take the bus when they had cars.
