Prince Charles, Princess Diana Clashed With Prince Philip For This Shocking Reason

Prince Charles and Princess Diana reportedly clashed with Prince Philip due to a surprising reason.

In the book “William and Harry,” author Katie Nicholl revealed that the Prince and Princess of Wales were adamant about sending Prince William and Prince Harry to Eton even though they knew that would go against Prince Philip’s wishes. The Duke of Edinburgh wanted his grandchildren to follow in Prince Charles’ footsteps.

Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II sent their three sons, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward to boarding school at Gordonstoun in north-east Scotland. Prince Philip studied in the same school as well. However, Prince Charles didn’t necessarily have a wonderful time at the boarding school.

During a previous interview, the future King described his time there as miserable. He also said that studying there was like a prison sentence. Prince Charles didn’t want his sons to experience the same thing that’s why he agreed to send them to Eton instead.

According to Nicholl, Prince William didn’t receive any special treatment to enter Eton just because he was a royal. That’s why Prince Charles and Princess Diana were delighted to learn that their eldest son passed the Common Entrance exam. But before being granted admission at Eton, Prince William had to pass several other examinations at the prestigious school.

In related news, Prince Charles and Princess Diana also made headlines this week after it was revealed that the latter actually mistreated her ex-husband. In the book “Prince Charles: The Passions and Paradoxes of an Improbable Life,” author Sally Bedell Smith said that Princess Diana’s mental state put her marriage to Prince Charles in jeopardy.

There have also been instances wherein Princess Diana taunted Prince Charles and told him that he will never be King. The mom of two also ridiculed Prince Charles whenever he wore a uniform and told him that he looked ridiculous in all his medals.

Prince Charles’ cousin, Pamela Hicks, also revealed that Princess Diana hit Prince Charles over the head and argued with him nonstop while he was praying.
