Prince Charles, Princess Diana Look ‘Happy’ While Hanging Out With Kids In Photo
Prince Charles and Princess Diana posed for a photograph with their young sons, Prince William and Prince Harry decades ago.
In the snap, the royal family is sitting on the steps outside Kensington Palace. The Prince and Princess of Wales are wearing a tartan skirt while sitting on opposite ends of the photograph.
Their sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, are sitting in between them. The royal siblings are wearing a matching long-sleeved checkered sweater and blue pants. Their adorable dog is also featured in the photo.
Prince Charles and Princess Diana both have beautiful smiles on their faces while posing for Prince Andrew. The Duke of York is the one behind the camera, and he is also wearing a tartan skirt.
However, Prince William and Prince Harry don’t look amused while posing with their parents. The young boys both have serious looks on their faces. In the snap, the Duke of Sussex is roughly around 1 year old, while the Duke of Cambridge is 3 years old.
This means that Prince Charles and Princess Diana were still together at this time. And their marital problems have not yet been exposed to the entire world. It was only in the 1990s that the public became aware of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ issues.
And in 1992, the palace announced that the couple has amicably decided to go their separate ways. Princess Diana only wanted a trial separation from Prince Charles, and she reportedly fought hard to save their marriage. After all, the late royal didn’t want to repeat the pattern of her parents’ divorce.
During her conversation with Martin Bashir for Panorama, Princess Diana said that she didn’t want her sons to experience what she experienced when her parents divorced.
“I think like any marriage, especially when you've had divorced parents like myself, you'd want to try even harder to make it work and you don't want to fall back into a pattern that you've seen happen in your own family,” she said.
