Prince Charles Upset With Meghan Markle, Harry’s Decision To Quit Royal Roles

Prince Charles was reportedly upset with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to quit royal roles.

Two weeks ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. The palace and the world were shocked especially Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Prince William.

However, according to Express, the Prince of Wales was “deeply hurt” by the Sussexes’ decision because he played an active role in Prince Harry’s choice of bride. Many criticized Markle for Prince William’s younger brother but the future king supported his youngest son’s decision and even persuaded the monarch to give them the wedding he didn’t have with Camilla.

“He pushed his mother to give his son what he didn’t manage to achieve for himself when he wed Camilla — marrying a divorcee in church,” a source told Daily Mail.

Prince Charles was also close to Markle. The Duchess of Sussex also showed a genuine interest in learning more about the royal family’s history. The Prince of Wales was very impressed and was delighted to impart his knowledge on his daughter-in-law.

The future king was all the more impressed with how Markle managed the family drama that plagued her before she wed Prince Harry. The duchess also reportedly helped Prince Harry to be closer to his dad.

Prince Charles is very fond of Prince Harry’s wife that he has a sweet nickname for Markle. According to reports, the Prince of Wales called the duchess “tungsten” because she is “tough and unbending.”

“Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy. It's become a term of endearment,” a source explained.

Prince Harry and Markle are currently in Canada with their son Archie. The former “Suits” star flew to Vancouver shortly after their bombshell news. Markle’s mom Doria Ragland just broke her silence about the Sussexes’ departure and she said that her daughter is strong and she will be okay. She added that her grandson Archie is the “cutest.”
