Princess Eugenie, 29, and Jack Brooksbank, 29, tied the knot on Oct. 12, 2018, in St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, which is the same location at which Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, exchanged their wedding vows. Though the Royal event was considered a success, the couple did not escape the disparagements from some of their critics.

As a matter of fact, a total of 14,000 “outraged” British taxpayers signed a petition against funds going towards Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding just a few days before the said event. An anonymous Republic spokesman said that they should not be paying for the couple’s nuptials.

“Most Brits opposed taxpayer funding of Prince Harry’s wedding but as with all royal events were forced to accept it,” the source stated at the time. “But there’s something different about [the] royal wedding, and people aren’t happy.” Though the members of the Royal family have not responded to the said claims, reports have it that this would have an effect on Princess Beatrice, 31, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s, 36, forthcoming wedding.

A spokesman of the Buckingham Palace exclusively revealed to Express UK that the upcoming wedding of Princess Beatrice will be funded privately. The publication shared that the British taxpayers’ money, in most cases, is used to help cover the security costs of the royal weddings. The flowers, reception costs and other personal aspects of the wedding, on the other hand, are shouldered by the Royal family.

Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie revealed that royal titles are not that important to her. The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duke and Duchess of York, revealed that she does not enjoy being called a princess. She even told George Greig, in 2018, that she is not fond of talking about her being a member of the Royal family.

“One of my best friends jokingly says, ‘Hi, Princess,’ and I say, ‘Shut up,’” she said. Princess Eugenie added that being called a princess is among the many things that bug her most. The wife of Jack Brooksbank has been very vocal about how she tries to live a normal life despite her royal status.
