Prince George Could Attend This School With Special Connection To Kate Middleton
Prince George may follow in his mom Kate Middleton’s footsteps when it comes to the school he will go to when he gets a bit older.
Initial rumors claimed that since Prince George is his dad Prince William’s successor, he will also follow his dad and attend the elite Eton College. However, the third in line to the throne may have a less traditional education in the future.
Express writer James Bickerton claimed a source close to the royals informed him that Prince William and Middleton are planning on sending Prince George to Marlborough College in Wiltshire. The Duchess of Cambridge studied in the same school.
“Eton hasn’t been ruled out but they have talked at length about Marlborough as an option and the smart money is on George going there instead. They are very keen to allow George to spread his wings as a child and won’t ever do what people expect them to do when it comes to their children,” the source said.
However, the report has not been confirmed or denied by Kensington Palace as of late. Prince George, 5, is currently enrolled at Thomas’s Battersea in south-west London. He started going to school last year.
The source said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s decision to send Prince George to Thomas’s Battersea also came as a surprise to a lot of people. After all, royal fans were expecting that Prince George will go to a more traditional royal school, but his parents felt Thomas’s Battersea was the right fit for him.
Meanwhile, Middleton attended Marlborough College before she transferred to St. Andrew University in 2000. Middleton and Prince William met each other in St. Andrew University.
Prince William, on the other hand, first went to Eton College before transferring to St. Andrew University. Prince Harry also studied in the same school in Berkshire. Prince William’s dad, Prince Charles, and grandfather, Prince Philip, attended Gordonstoun. Prince William’s mom Princess Diana’s father and brother both went to Eton College.
Marlborough College was found in 1843 to educate the sons of clergymen. The institution welcomed female students starting in 1968.
