Prince Harry Denied Royal Romance With Princess Maria-Olympia 2 Years Ago

Princess Harry was linked to another royal two years before he married Meghan Markle.

In 2016, the Duke of Sussex was romantically linked to Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece, a model and socialite from the last king and queen of the country. However, Prince Harry denied their romance.

According to Emily Hodgkin, a journalist for Daily Express, a royal insider said that the reports were "nonsense, it's not true in the least."

The stunning and blonde royal has modeled for Dolce & Gabanna and has been known for her sexy Instagram snaps. However, the Greek royal family was disbanded after the rule of Constantine II of Greece and Anne-Marie of Denmark. But, at the time, the princess is still known as "Her Royal Highness." Princess Maria-Olympia's mom, Princess Marie-Chantal, also retains her title.

On the same year, Prince Harry also met Margot Robbie. According to the "Suicide Squad" star, she was introduced to the royalty by their common friend Cara Delevingne.

"Well, he's friends with Cara [Delevingne]," Robbie explained. "They've known each other for years, and we met through friends."

Robbie also confessed that she mistook Prince Harry for Ed Sheeran. The Duke of Sussex was reportedly "really offended." But in her defense, she noted that "He wasn't wearing a crown though! Like, I don't know it's a prince!"

Also in 2016, Prince Harry met Markle through a blind date. During the Duke and Duchess of Sussex interview, they admitted that they "were introduced actually by a mutual friend." Initially, they refused to drop a name to protect the privacy of the person. However, it was later known that their matchmaker was Violet Von Westenholz.

Von Westenholz is among Prince Harry's trusted inner circle of friends. The prince turns to her when it comes to the matters of the heart and Prince Harry reportedly told her his struggles in finding the one.

"Harry was having a really hard time finding anyone," a source said. "It's hard enough finding someone new to date. He can hardly go on Tinder or a dating app like normal people, but to meet someone that you actually connect with, that was proving to be almost impossible. It was something he had confided in his closest friends about; he was ready to meet someone but it was so hard to actually find the right person."

The problem was resolved when von Westenholz met Markle. She introduced the former "Suits" actress to the prince and was very happy that their relationship ended in marriage.
