Prince Harry will deliver a keynote speech next week in New York City.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be in the Big Apple to join the U.N. General Assembly and celebrate Nelson Mandela Day on Monday. Prince Harry will deliver a keynote speech at the event.
Neil Sean, a royal commentator and correspondent for NBC News, MSNBC and Access Hollywood, weighed in on Prince Harry's upcoming speech. For him, it seemed that Prince William's brother was enjoying the limelight after stepping down from his royal duties to live a private life.
"Looks like, Prince Harry now is going to be, so we say, getting back on the world stage," Sean said on his YouTube channel. "Of course, this is a man who seemingly now likes the fake royal life as it were the folk royal life, whichever you want to call it, because if you recall when he decided to quit and go and exit and everything, he didn't really want that life."
He continued, "They wanted a private life to remain in the background, doing their own thing, but of course, the lower the limelight, particularly for his wife, Meghan Markle, is always something of a treat and they've been invited to give the keynote speech at the Nelson Mandela event."
According to Sean, there's a lot of backlash against Prince Harry in the U.K. due to his old antics, including the time when he made headlines for wearing a swastika outfit at a party. Sean said Prince Harry "clearly isn't the right person." However, he wanted to give the duke a chance, noting that those pictures were taken "a long time ago" and "hopefully Harry has seemingly grown-up." He added that even if Prince Harry will deliver the speech, it will be his wife's words.
"While they're building it as Prince Harry's speech, it will definitely be the words of his wife as well, Meghan Markle," he added.
The royal expert mentioned Prince Harry's mom Princess Diana meeting Mandela in person. According to Sean, the former President of South Africa was "enamored" with the late Princess of Wales. However, he speculated that Prince Harry doing the keynote speech was to keep the people talking about the royal due to his upcoming memoir, which would reportedly help the profile of his book.
"Whichever way you look at this event for Harry and Meghan, they will see it as a real pivotal move in their quest for world domination and more importantly even more worldwide fame," he added.
Prince Harry's "wholly truthful" memoir is coming this fall despite rumors that it would be delayed. An unnamed source told Page Six it would include new details that "should make his family nervous."
