Prince Harry Has This Secret Christmas Tradition, Royal Expert Says
Prince Harry has a secret Christmas tradition.
The Duke of Sussex reportedly enjoys a festive tradition of partying with the household staff during Christmas. According to Brian Hoey in his 2014 book “Christmas with the Queen”, during the holidays, the royals usually host a drinking party for the 426 members of staff in the State Ballroom of Buckingham Palace before they set off to Sandringham for Christmas.
Hoey said that the gathering allows the staff to socialize with the royal family. At the event, the finest wines and spirits are served without limit.
Prince Harry is reportedly “very popular with the staff.” The Duke of Sussex mixes informally with the other staff who are his age.
Prince Harry is usually joined by his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. It remains unknown if his pregnant wife, Meghan Markle, has joined him in his festive partying. Hoey added that Prince Harry has the habit of dropping in on more informal events.
“The junior staff, footmen and housemaids, have a very informal get-together that goes on until the early hours of the morning and often Prince Harry will drop in if he is in London,” Hoey wrote.
On the other hand, just like Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth II has her favorite party, too. The monarch is reportedly fond of the Buckingham Palace Mews party. The event is an exclusive gathering for the grooms, stablehands and riders. The chauffeurs and garage mechanics in the palace are invited in the said event as well.
Prince Harry had a playboy reputation. The Duke of Sussex had a history of partying, drinking and smoking. At one point, he was involved in marijuana and Prince Charles went mental after learning about it.
However, the duke is now a changed man. He quit smoking and started to live a healthier lifestyle when he began dating Markle. In fact, many deemed the former “Suits” star as a beautiful influence to the Duke of Sussex.
Markle encouraged Prince Harry to get rid of his party lifestyle. She also influenced him to get in shape and stay fit.
