Prince Harry Holds Hands With Queen Elizabeth II In Unearthed Video
Prince Harry has always been known to be close to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, but one video captured the monarch showing just how much she dotes on Prince Charles' youngest son.
In an unearthed video shared by Hello!, Prince Harry, only 4 years old at the time, holds Queen Elizabeth's hand as they exit St. George's Chapel in Windsor. The pair, along with other members of the royal family, had attended the Easter Sunday service.
The Queen looked bright and cheery in her all-pink ensemble, consisting of a hot pink coat, matching dress and a hat in a lighter pink shade. At one point in the clip, she peers down at her little grandson, who complemented the monarch's ensemble with his maroon coat.
Queen Elizabeth II also proved how much she spoiled Prince Harry as Prince William's younger brother was the only royal grandchild who received the honor of joining the monarch in her car as they left the chapel. Check out the full video here.
Prince Harry seems to have only grown closer to his grandmother over the years, and the two even filmed a comedy skit together for the Invictus Games. In the video posted a couple of years ago, Barack and Michelle Obama talk about mic drops, which is then followed by Prince Harry imitating the same next to Queen Elizabeth II.
But Queen Elizabeth II will soon have another little royal to dote on since Prince Harry's wife Meghan Markle is set to give birth any day now. The couple had not revealed the gender or the name of their first child, but it was recently announced that Prince Harry and the former actress have no plans to expose their baby to the public immediately after birth.
According to a statement released by Buckingham Palace, Prince Harry and Markle "have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.”
“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family,” the statement continued.
Princess Diana and Prince William's wife Kate Middleton had set a precedent by introducing all of their children to the world shortly after giving birth. The two had always stepped outside the private Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital and let photographers capture their newborns on camera.
While Prince Harry and Markle have received flak for their decision, some understand why they made such a choice.
“It is completely understandable,” royal author Ingrid Seward told People. “The Lindo Wing has become too much of a circus.”
