Prince Harry May Be With Meghan Markle During Delivery For This Reason
Prince Harry could be in the delivery room when Meghan Markle gives birth to their first child in the spring.
Kate Whitfield, a journalist for Express, said that royal traditions suggest the dad is not allowed to be in the delivery room while his wife is giving birth. Royal births were originally considered a female-only event, and dads typically wait for the news of the arrival outside the delivery room.
But following Prince Charles’ birth 70 years ago, the rules were relaxed. When Kate Middleton gave birth to her three children in 2013, 2015 and 2018, Prince William was there by her side. The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis at St. Mary’s Hospital Lindo Wing.
It is possible that Prince Harry will also be there when Markle gives birth during the first quarter of the year. The Duke of Sussex has been very excited about the arrival of his first child, and he has also expressed his desire to have a baby girl during one of his royal engagements last year.
In the video uploaded by a royal fan on Twitter, one of the people from the massive crowd congratulated Prince Harry on Markle’s pregnancy. The fan said that she hopes that Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have a baby girl. Prince Harry excitedly replied, “So do I!”
As of late, it is still unclear where the “Suits” alum will give birth. There are some rumors suggesting that she will welcome her first child at a hospital, but not at St. Mary’s Hospital. There are also some rumors claiming that Markle will opt for a home birth just like Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty gave birth to her four children at home. Years ago, the decision to not give birth at a hospital was done to preserve the monarch’s dignity. However, Princess Diana decided to change the tradition when she gave birth to Prince William at St. Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing in 1982. Prince Harry was also born at the same facility.
