Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Check Into Princess Diana's Favorite Hotel In NYC

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have already arrived in New York City for an engagement.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in NYC for the Global Citizen Live in Central Park Saturday. Upon arriving in the Big Apple, the pair checked into The Carlyle Hotel, Princess Diana's favorite luxury hotel in the area, Page Six reported.

Prince Harry and Markle flew to New York Wednesday. It's unclear if they arrived there by private jet. They reportedly dined at Bemelmans Bar on the Upper East Side that night.

The following day, they visited One World Observatory where they met NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Kathy Hochul. They were dressed in all-black outfits when they visited the 9/11 Memorial.

Prince Harry and Markle also paid tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. They marked the 20th anniversary of the tragedy by listing all the 2,977 names of the people killed at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and on United Flight 93 on the homepage of the Archewell Foundation's website.

Prince Harry and Markle will call for the G7 and EU to donate at least 1 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses immediately. The royal couple has been advocating for COVID-19 vaccine equity since they became available. Prince Harry was also present at Global Citizen's Vax Live concert in Los Angeles in May.

"The vaccine must be distributed to everyone everywhere," he said at the time, as per Page Six. "We cannot rest or truly recover until there is fair distribution to every corner of the world. The virus does not respect borders and access to the vaccine cannot be determined by geography."

Prince Harry and Markle's New York trip is their first visit to the Big Apple together. Their friends previously said that they were looking forward to their "romantic fall" trip.

Prior to the trip, Prince Harry last visited New York in 2013 when he promoted the GREAT campaign after Hurricane Sandy devastated the tri-state area. Meanwhile, Markle's last visit to NYC was in February 2019 when she celebrated her flashy $500,000 baby shower with her celebrity pals Gayle King, Serena Williams and Amal Clooney.
