Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Committed Huge Gaffe With Son’s Christening Thank You Note
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently confused fans and critics with the thank you notes they sent out after Archie’s christening.
According to Express, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex already split from Prince William and Kate Middleton but the thank you note that they sent out to fans came from Kensington Palace.
Royal fans were expecting that the thank you notes will be coming from the Buckingham Palace since this is where the royal couple’s office will be operating from.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex asked Queen Elizabeth II if they can create their own office in Windsor under the Sussex surname. However, Her Majesty didn’t approve their request.
“They wanted their household to be entirely independent of Buckingham Palace, but were told ‘no.’ There is an institutional structure that doesn’t allow that kind of independence,” a source told The Times.
Last week, Prince Harry and Markle sent out their thank you note to fans but instead of including their son’s photo, the royal couple just shared a photo of themselves alongside a touching message.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been overwhelmed by all the incredibly kind cards and letters they have received on the occasion of Archie’s christening, and are so touched that you took the trouble to write as you did. It really was most thoughtful of you and greatly appreciated by Their Royal Highnesses who send you their very best wishes,” the card read.
Following the release of the thank you notes, Prince Harry and Markle were slammed by critics for hiding their son from the public. Throughout the past couple of months, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made it clear that they want their son to be a private citizen.
Prince Harry and Markle did a similar thing after Archie was born. Instead of introducing their son to the public shortly after his birth, the couple waited two days to do so.
