Among many of their new initiatives as independent royals, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are launching a podcast. The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex have signed an exclusive deal with Spotify for an undisclosed amount.

The couple will be producing and hosting original audio programming for the global music and podcast streaming platform. According to Variety, it is a multi-year partnership with their newly launched Archewell Audio to produce content with the aim of “building community through shared experience, narratives and values.”

“What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction,” Prince Harry and Meghan said in a joint statement. “With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”

The followers of the royal couple will get to enjoy their podcasts as soon as the New Year. As per the report, Archewell Audio is releasing a holiday special hosted by the parents-of-one marking the New Year. It will include “stories of hope and compassion.”

Meanwhile, a three-minute teaser for their holiday special is out on their exclusive channel on Spotify. The trailer features a sweet interaction between the pair wherein they reveal details about their podcast and what they plan to bring to their audiences.

As the teaser opens, the couple shares a romantic moment as Meghan tells Harry: “No, say it because I think it sounds really nice with your accent."

Then they go on to introduce Archewell Audio and the objective of their project.

“And that's what this project is all about, to bring forward different perspectives and voices that perhaps you haven't heard before and find our common ground. When that happens, change really is possible,” Harry says.

Meghan then adopts a celebratory tone and says that this is a “moment to celebrate kindness and compassion.” The holiday podcast from Spotify’s Gimlet studio brings forth stories from inspirational guests.

The first complete Spotify series by Prince Harry and Meghan is slated to release in the year 2021 and it will be available for free.
