Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have found their competition as new favorite royals.

Latifa Yedroudj, a journalist for Express, claimed that Zara Tindall and her husband Mike have won over the British public because of their endearing and down-to-earth nature. The couple has never been afraid to be themselves while they are out with their children, Mia and Lena.

During some of the public engagements, the couple has not shied away from showing their affection towards each other in public. They also made headlines at Prince Harry and Markle’s May 19 royal wedding when Mike was seen caressing his wife’s baby bump during the service.

The journalist also said that Tindall is more relatable compared to Kate Middleton because she doesn’t mind dressing down every now and then. The Duchess of Cambridge is typically seen in public with her hair blow-dried even if she is just on a casual trip to the park with Prince William and their children.

Markle, on the other hand, is also seen wearing designer outfits during official and unofficial engagements. Last weekend, she wore a stunning multicolored pleated dress by Club Monaco at Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks’ wedding.

However, Tindall has not been afraid to look casual. She attended her husband’s golf tournament in Newport Celtic Manor Resort in June by wearing a navy-blue collared shirt, cap, and sneakers. At that time, she has only given birth to Lena for 12 days.

The journalist said that there may be less pressure on Tindall to look her best at all times because she has not been given an official royal title even though she’s Princess Anne’s daughter and Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter. Princess Anne turned down the Queen’s offer to make Tindall a princess, and she said that she’s glad she did so.

While speaking with The Times in 2015, she said, “I’ve been very lucky. My parents didn’t give us titles, so we’ve been able to have a slightly more normal upbringing. As soon as you’ve got a title, it’s very difficult to shed it. I’m very lucky that both my parents decided not to use the title and we grew up and did all the things that gave us the opportunity to do.”
