  • Meghan Markle has been showing some form of control over Prince Harry

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle discussed their royal status on their new website, which reportedly proved how preoccupied they are with their royal status.

While speaking with Daily Mail, a royal insider said that even though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been adamant about wanting to step down, they still somehow want to maintain their royal status.

“They seem quite preoccupied with what status they will retain and the fact that Harry remains sixth in line to the throne, as they made a point of saying on their new website the other day,” the insider said.

On the Sussex Royal website, the royal couple pointed out the fact that Prince Harry would retain a number of his royal titles including the rank of Major. Archie’s dad will also keep his honorary ranks of Lieutenant Commander and Squadron Leader.

Prince Harry and Markle also seemingly took a swipe at other members of the royal family who were able to retain their royal titles outside their official duties. For instance, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are still called as such even though they are not considered as senior working royals.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle also made headlines this week after it was revealed that the latter is the one that has the upper hand. Eagle-eyed netizens and experts noticed how the “Suits” alum would always reach out to touch her husband during their royal engagements.

While speaking with Daily Mail, body language expert Judi James said that there is a secret control in how Markle would pat her husband’s back or shoulder in public.

“This is a parental, partially nurturing gesture that also implies a desire to control or steer,” she said.

James also said that the doting double clasp that Markle does hints at ownership.

“Meghan doubles the closeness signals by implying ownership, as well as ensuring she is uppermost in Harry's mind,” she said.
