  • Meghan Markle's comment on Queen Elizabeth II's decision smacks of spiteful fury
  • Twitter feels that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are disrespecting Queen Elizabeth II
  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry should have not said anything about Queen Elizabeth II's decision

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry should have not said anything about Queen Elizabeth II’s decision following their departure.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their bombshell exit last month. Just recently, the Queen reportedly banned them from using “Sussex Royal” as their brand. The couple reacted by sharing a lengthy update about the Spring 2020 transition on their website, stating that they do not intend to use “royal.”

Many reacted to Prince Harry and Markle’s move, with some believing that it would have been better if they did not release any statement at all.

“They should not have said anything and accepted it with good grace rather than having a dig. Why am I not surprised at the lack of class shown by these two. Go make your millions in the USA, but I would not count on much support over this side of the pond nowadays,” @conradcarter66 commented.

Many were convinced that the statement was an attack against the Queen. Some called them “spoiled brats.”

“Wow! Fancy, the sheer audacity to write this in their ‘statement’ sounding churlish & bitter. They really appear to want to be seen as having the upper hand over The Queen. What good reason was there to write this? Why cause any (more) bad blood? Behaving like spoilt upstarts!” @RoCoGB commented.

“Agree. It's a Victim Response statement. Royal couldn't go global but could have used outside UK. A dig to Queen. I can't have it so won't use it at all. Choice? NO that's Meghan saying won't be controlled. Re Trademark- she brings up W&K. Their WORKING! Rug got pulled under her!” @ccrook1974 agreed.

Several Twitter users also said that Prince Harry and Markle were being disrespectful to Queen Elizabeth II. Another said that they were taking themselves too seriously.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles’ biographer, Tom Bower, found the rumors about Markle telling her friends that the Queen does not own the words “royal” and “spiteful,” and the statement only showed the duchess’ “true nature and motives.”

“Her comments about the Queen's decision smacks of spiteful fury,” Bower told Daily Mail. “I fear it will get worse.”
