Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Step Out For Christmas Service, Shows Baby Bump
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seemed unfazed when they stepped out for the first time since the Duchess of Sussex was rumored to be feuding with Kate Middleton.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended their first charity Christmas Carol Service at St. Luke’s Church in London to support one of Prince Harry’s favorite causes, the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund. The fund helps schools in Uganda and Africa and was named after the prince’s school friend who died in a car accident, according to People.
Markle, who is expecting her first child, gave a reading from the poem “Our Deepest Fear” by Marianne Williamson. Last year, Prince Harry also attended that annual gathering by himself. At that time, he just got engaged to Markle.
Prior to giving the reading, Markle said that she and her husband believed it would be perfect because it sums up the spirit of the fund, which is to empower young children.
Prince Harry also addressed the congregation to highlight the work that the charity does for young girls and to encourage them into education.
“As my wife said many years ago when working on menstrual health and health education, this is not about periods but potential,” Prince Harry said.
And while at the event, Markle was also seen cradling her baby bump while wearing a blue dress that matched Prince Harry’s blue suit. Shortly after the gathering, The Sun’s royal correspondent Emily Andrews uploaded a series of photos of Markle with her growing baby bump.
“Cute baby bump alert! #meghan #duchessofsussex looks like she’s popped! All KP have ever said is that she’s due in the ‘spring.’ By the looks of things March or early April. H&M are leaving a charity carol concert in Chelsea for Henry van Straubenzee fund, where both spoke,” she captioned the snaps.
On Oct. 15, Kensington Palace announced that Markle is pregnant with her first child and said that her baby is due in the spring of 2019. Bookies predicted that Markle may give birth between March to May, and her firstborn may also share the same birthday with Princess Charlotte or Queen Elizabeth II.
